Classic Car News: Revive Your Passion For Classic Cars At Goodwood

‘A magical step back in time’, is the perfect phrase to sum up the well-known Goodwood Revival, which promises to relive some of those classic motoring moments. Goodwood can easily be described as the crème de la crème of classic car shows, with its “chic, relaxed and incredibly stylish atmosphere”, according to Goodwood.co.uk.

Whether you’re a keen motoring maniac or just love the nostalgia, there is an outrageous host of attraction to appeal to all ages and sexes – and even those dedicated followers of the cool 1950′s and 1960′s.

It has been reported that glitz and glamour will be returning to this speedy festival, with the golden age of motoring pulling in people from miles away to witness the authenticity of the classic eras. In keeping with the 1960′s theme, there will be a 60′s street scene erected especially for the event so visitors can reminisce a century of greatness – and I’m not just talking about the cars.

It is only fitting for this iconic event to inject some humour over the 3 days, which this year includes a period film set complete with directors and actors who will be producing an Ealing-style comedy as well as a darker film noir.

This should be an event already marked in your diary as the place to be this weekend, somewhere you can marvel at the array of impressive cars.

The unchanged Goodwood circuit still revs interest with its untouched beauty and authentic atmosphere, where you can expect to see some of the cars that competed on that very circuit in their heyday.

Classic Car News: Studying Classic Cars Provides A Degree Of Satisfaction

Classic Car News: Studying Classic Cars Provides A Degree Of Satisfaction

Most of us go to college or university to work hard and play harder. This is the philosophy of twelve teenagers, studying vehicle body repairs at Sandwell College, who have experienced the satisfaction of restoring a 1982 classic Mini.

Working on and restoring a classic car as part of an assignment takes the word ‘practical’ to a whole new level. However, what could be more practical than getting your students to restore your classic car back to its former glory?

The students in question haven’t simply given the motor a new lick of paint, they have given it a new lease of life. “The once lime green Mini has now been painted flame red”, according to ExpressandStar.com, making it look a million dollars.

A million dollars is far from the £250 the college lecturer paid for this lump of metal, but he has admitted to spending a further £5,500 of his own money for parts needed for the students to restore the car.

The best way to prove your enthusiasm for a classic automobile is to help restore it to its original splendour, which is exactly what these twelve college students did. The owner has said that he has been a lecturer at the college for more than 10 years and has “never seen students demonstrate such enthusiasm for a car”.
